Oil Palm Produce Increment Technic Through Secondary Macronutrient and Micronutrient Fertilizers

Did you palm tree farmers know? To increase oil palm produce through fertilization, apart from using fertilizer formulas with primary macronutrients (N-P-K), there are at least four other essential nutrient elements in two categories which help increase oil palm production:

  1. Three secondary macronutrients: calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg) and sulfur (S)
  2. One micronutrient: boron (B)

Especially those who has been farming for a long time without using any organic fertilizer, you should consider using fertilizer formulas with secondary macronutrients and micronutrients to prevent malnutrition which would decrease your produce. This cannot be offset by increasing primary macronutrients fertilizer. In short, don’t ever overlook fertilizer formulas with secondary macronutrients and micronutrients if you wish to increase your produce.

Fertilizers with secondary macronutrients and micronutrients include:

Hymag B Fertilizer: consisting of secondary macronutrients and a micronutrient of 8.1% calcium (CaO), 1% magnesium (MgO), 10.8% sulfur (S), and 1.58% boron (B), suitable for oil palm farmers using only fertilizers with primary macronutrients such as the formulas 15-15-15, 13-13-21, or straight fertilizers such as urea (46-0-0) or potassium chloride (0-0-60).

Sunmag Fertilizer: consisting of three secondary macronutrient elements of 15% calcium (CaO), 10% magnesium (MgO), and 7% sulfur (S), suitable for palm tree farmers who are using primary macronutrients fertilizer of the three elements with boron (B) such as the formulas 14-10-30 + 0.25 B or 12-4-40 + 0.1 B.
